Last week in Hangzhou, China, our dear friend Scott developed a sudden gallbladder infection (The doctors later determined it started as an ecoli infection in his leg) that rapidly escalated into acute toxic shock. He is now in critical condition in intensive care, fighting for his life.

His brothers and girlfriend are at his side in China, but the reality is overwhelming. Because this happened outside the U.S., Scott’s insurance does not apply, and his medical expenses are mounting by the hour. We cannot allow money to be the deciding factor in whether Scott lives or dies.

Scott is a genuinely kind and good-hearted person. He has a quiet humor, a deep love for animals, and a way of making people feel comfortable and cared for. He’s the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, and right now he needs others to look out for him.

The costs of emergency hospitalization, intensive care, and life-saving procedures are already staggering, and they continue to rise each day. This fundraiser is here to ensure Scott receives every bit of medical attention he needs, without delay or compromise. We will keep raising the goal as needed to cover Scott's ongoing medical costs.
