For nearly 50 years, Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill has been more than a neighborhood bar—it has been a gathering place, a second home, and part of the history of our community.

Pineapple Hill has been here since 1978, and I have proudly operated it for nearly 15 years. Through good times, difficult times, the pandemic, and countless challenges, we have continued to fight for this special place, our loyal customers, and the employees who depend on it.

Now, Pineapple Hill is in danger of losing its home.

After years on a month-to-month lease, we were given notice to vacate because the property is being redeveloped. Although we were verbally told that Pineapple Hill could return after the improvements were completed, the landlord has not been willing to guarantee that promise in writing.

Without a written agreement, we could close our doors with no assurance that we will ever be allowed to return.

And even if we were allowed to return, after operations are forced to a halt for 6-12 months to accommodate the developer's renovations, we will be bankrupt.

We are raising money to give Pineapple Hill a fighting chance. Donations will help us pursue one of two paths:

• Fight for a fair agreement that guarantees Pineapple Hill the right to return after construction; or
• Relocate Pineapple Hill to a new permanent home where our history and community can continue.

At a time where 5 other businesses are closing just this week due to the economy, we were actually thriving - not just recovering - from the hit we took during last year's fires. This just goes to show how much Pineapple Hill means to a community that has been put through so much.

Funds may be used for legal and professional expenses, moving and storage, a security deposit, permits and licensing, construction and improvements, equipment relocation, reopening expenses, and support for our employees during the transition.

Moving an established restaurant and bar is enormously expensive—especially when its history, equipment, employees, and liquor license are all tied to its location. We cannot do this alone.

Pineapple Hill has hosted birthdays, memorials, fundraisers, reunions, holiday celebrations, Vikings games, trivia nights, and generations of friendships. People have met here, fallen in love here, celebrated milestones here, and found community here.

This is not just about saving a business. It is about protecting a neighborhood institution and the people who have made it what it is.

Every donation—large or small—will help us fight for our future. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser and tell others what Pineapple Hill means to you.

We will keep our supporters updated and be transparent about how the funds are used. If we are able to secure the right to return, the money will help us survive the closure and reopen. If returning is not possible, the funds will go toward relocating Pineapple Hill and creating a new home for our community.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with Pineapple Hill, our employees, and the community we love.

Help us prove that nearly 50 years of history is worth saving.

With gratitude,
