We Need Your Help!

Stratford Butterfly Farm
imports it's butterflies from breeders in the tropics.
All the places we buy from from are either conservation projects or village projects. Butterfly breeding is the main source of income for most of the villagers. These breeding operations have been set up to enable communities to earn a living without causing any damage to the environment and wildlife around them. Not only is this good from a conservation point of view, it also allows families all over the tropics to earn a sustainable income and helps to preserve the rainforest.

Due to the disruption of COVID-19 the tropical butterfly farmers and breeders have been left unable to earn a living since exports were suspended in early March. There is no financial support available from their governments and these small community projects are in danger of collapsing and being lost forever. There are already stories coming out of the Arabuko Sokoke forest area of Kenya that the rainforest is being invaded for firewood and timber. This poses a series threat to the local ecosystems.

It is vital that these projects are supported through these trying times, which is why Stratford Butterfly Farm has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise awareness and funds for the tropical butterfly breeders.

By donating to this campaign, no matter how big or small the donation, you will be protecting the projects below and helping to make sure they survive for generations to come.
