HELP SAVE KIRKPATRICK’S SCHOOL OF DANCE
A brief history:
For almost 65 years, Kirkpatrick’s School of Dance has been a staple in San Mateo. Studying the art of dance at our studio has become a tradition for hundreds of peninsula families. Young dancers, many even second or third generation students of Kirkpatrick’s, begin their training by learning the fundamentals of dance with us. From little movers to big stars, we strive to educate our dancers to be well-rounded and successful. Many of our students graduate and go on to perform and study dance in the professional world. We are very proud of our excellent staff, many of whom trained at Kirkpatrick’s for years as they were growing up.
The situation:
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we were forced to close in Mid-March and our annual recital event was cancelled, leaving us drastically short on income for the season. As the closure continues with nothing coming in, it is becoming increasingly challenging to pay the operating costs of our studio facility in this high-cost area. We will not have any revenue for the summer months, and perhaps into Fall if the shelter-in-place orders are still in effect. Conservatively, this means four to five months without income, one-third of a year, or more! The bottom line is that we really need your help - and we need it now!
Without your support to help us through this gap in revenues, Kirkpatrick's will be forced to shut its doors permanently. It would be heartbreaking to lose this heritage business that has contributed so much to the San Mateo community with its long-standing tradition in quality dance education. Funds raised here will cover our rent and other facility costs during this closure. Your assistance now will go a long way to helping to ensure that Kirkpatrick's will be here to provide dance instruction for years to come.
