Hi, my name is Brianna Cashen, and I’m writing this with a broken heart to ask for help in saving the life of someone incredibly dear to me—Audrey Ariyah May
Audrey is one of the strongest and most resilient people I know, yet life has handed her more pain than anyone should ever have to endure. She lives with a long list of complex, chronic physical and mental health conditions, including:
• Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Anorexia Nervosa
• Bipolar II Disorder
• Chronic Gastritis & GERD
• Complex PTSD (C-PTSD)
• Endometriosis
• Epilepsy
• Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
• Gastroparesis
• Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS)
• Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
• Cognitive Impairment
• Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
• Polycythemia Vera
• Unstable Angina
Despite these struggles, Audrey still managed to find love and hope. She was engaged to her soulmate, Mikayla Jade, and together they were joyfully expecting a baby girl, lovingly named Poppy. At their 12-week scan, they were told the heartbreaking news that their daughter wasn’t going to survive. But Poppy was a fighter—she beat the odds and stayed with them for two more precious weeks. At 14 weeks, their baby girl grew her angel wings.
Just one month later, on July 10, 2025, Audrey’s entire world shattered again. Mikayla died by suicide—broken by the unbearable grief of losing their daughter and the relentless bullying she faced. But it wasn’t just the bullying. Mikayla also reached out for help from a public mental health system that was under-resourced, overstretched, and ultimately failed her. She didn’t get the support she needed in time.
The system let Mikayla down. And now, that same overwhelmed and broken system is not an option for Audrey.
Since Mikayla’s death, Audrey’s mental and physical health has deteriorated rapidly. She has been hospitalised with a severe FND flare, her eating disorder has worsened from trauma and grief, and her mental health is dangerously fragile. She is currently under a treatment order and desperately needs specialised, intensive psychiatric care in a private inpatient facility.
This is Audrey’s last hope. Without immediate access to treatment—treatment that the public system simply cannot provide—her life is at serious risk.
We are begging for help. Every single dollar raised will go directly to funding Audrey’s care. No donation is too small. If you cannot donate, please share this story. Help give Audrey the chance that Mikayla was denied.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us in this fight.
With all my love and gratitude,
Brianna Cashen
