Sarah and Joe Long COVID Support

Hi community,

Our beloved Sarah and her partner Joe have been suffering with long COVID for a long time. They tested positive for COVID on January 11, 2022 and were diagnosed with long-hauler symptoms not too long after.

In early March, over a year ago, Joe started getting severe chest pains and worsening shortness of breath. He was let go from his long-time job on March 14, 2022 and hasn’t been able to return to work since. He has tried to get on disability support, but has been denied.

Sarah was able to go back to work full time since May, 2022, to be the primary financial supporter of their household. But on February 8, 2023, she got sick with another virus, which exacerbated her long hauler migraine symptoms. She was diagnosed with SUNCT disease in late February, which has led to debilitating pain and an inability to go back to work.

They are in financial distress right now, with limited ability to pay for rent and basic needs. We can use all the help we can get supporting them financially while they get back on their feet. Any money raised will go toward rent, food, utilities, and other basic needs.

Hopefully they are able to get disability and Medicaid coverage ASAP, which would get them back on a path toward financial security. Thank you for your support.
