A$AP is my Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer mix, adopted from Babylon Animal Shelter on Long Island in January 2018.
Anyone who knows A$AP knows he is such a lively dog with a *bold* personality. In the 2+ years I’ve had him, he has touched so many people’s lives, far beyond just myself and my family.
On February 12, A$AP suffered what we believe was a fibrocartilaginous embolism — a spinal stroke — that left him paralyzed in his left hind leg and very weak in his right hind leg. He can’t stand or walk on his own, so he needs constant care and attention.
The medical bills are already overwhelming, with more medication, special equipment, physical therapy and follow-up vet visits in the future, so any contribution would be extremely helpful and appreciated.
A$AP has gotten me through the toughest times of my life, so now it’s my turn to return the favor.
My only goal is to give him the best care possible as he tries to recover and gain enough strength to hopefully walk on his own again someday.
