Santo's Emergency Auto Repair

Santo relocated from Illinois to Minnesota around the same time his father passed away earlier this year. In late May it became clear that he was unable to make ends meet due to an unreliable income and late fees from existing debt. So, Santo reached out for help.

One of the people he contacted, Sam, has partnered with Santo to help with financial planning as he works at his new job. Together, they've worked their way through one challenge after the other as each week comes.

Santo's new job relies upon tip-based income and he must commute in his car to make ends meet. The relocation to MN was tough on his car and he must make an expensive auto repair so he can continue to provide shelter for himself and work with his support system.

Currently, Santo spends 2 to 3 hours per day commuting to work by bus and relies upon a coworker for a ride back to his current short-term housing arrangement. Losing out on that extra time each day makes it harder for Santo to spend time on necessary errands and appointments so he can better his situation. On top of that, it's emotionally exhausting.
