Sangai Turay's Legacy: Raise Aid for Sickle Cell
Donation protected
Assalamualaikum,
On May 15, 2025, our dear sister Sangai Turay passed away. For many years she suffered from a life-threatening illness known as Sickle Cell Anemia. Sangai was an empowering, kind soul and brought love and insight to those around her. In light of her passing, we look forward to performing the 40-day ritual here in the United States and Liberia, where Sangai was born. This is a special, but not mandatory practice in Islam. Another important factor we want to start with is creating awareness of Sickle Cell Anemia and providing help for medical costs for individuals suffering from this disease within the African community and diaspora. This special gathering is for us to commemorate and mourn the life of our dear sister with the community and family back home in Monrovia, Liberia. In this tough time, any donation, even a share, is a blessing and will help offset the cost of travel. This will also help put these events together and initiate a foundation in honor of our sister, Sangai.
Thank you all for your help and time- From the Family of Sangai Turay
