Sam McMillan, is a 14-year old Glasgow boy living with Angelman Syndrome.
Angelman syndrome is a rare neuro-genetic disorder that occurs in one in 15,000 live births. AS is often misdiagnosed as cerebral palsy or autism due to lack of awareness. Individuals with Angelman syndrome require life-long care.
Sam has never spoken… he’s profoundly disabled… but he’s never stopped smiling!
While Sam loves to visit the park with his doting sister Leila he can only sit and watch because mainstream play parks are not equipped for children with disabilities and therefore he can’t participate.
Sam's Angels - a group of around 30 seasoned and novice running ladies are taking part in the Glasgow 10K to raise funds to get Sam his very own swing specially adapted for his needs.
Because every child deserves the right to play…
