Sam & Malachi Get Well Fund

I and many other mentors from Colorado Youth at Risk have had the benefit of becoming mentors to some wonderful youth with limitless potential. One youth in our program, Sam, and her brother, Malachi, have encountered some tough recent health conditions and their families could use some support and health for transportation costs, groceries, and all the miscellaneous costs that occur when tending to a very sick child.
Sam has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer and will enduring chemotherapy, knee surgery, and more chemotherapy over the next 6-8 months. Sam is a talented, intelligent, funny, and charismatic teenager who loves to write music, raps, poems, and adores pets of all kinds. She's got a big heart, a warm smile, and a great sense of humor that will keep you guessing!
Malachi is another beautiful spirit who will warm your heart the second you see his smile. Even while enduring dialysis due to failure of both kidneys, as well as heart issues. He has been in the hospital on dialysis for weeks and is expected to stay through Christmas. He continues to remain upbeat and grateful for all the support he gets from the mentors and his family.
These two youth are dealing with some pretty adult issues and yet are able to maintain their youthful spirit and could really use some support from the larger community. We are grateful to any kindness and support you can show to them and their family.
