WHAT WERE WE THINKING: So this all started as a unique way to celebrate a "special" birthday. 3 self confessed "exercise junkies" Jennifer Coleman, Terrianne Thompson and Kerryanne Andrews decided to do something a little different. We are used to gyms, crazy mud obstacle courses, pools and running tracks but not bikes - so we decided to go for a little ride.
WHAT HAVE WE SIGNED UP FOR: We are doing the epic cycling adventure (about 560km) from Goondiwindi to the Gold Coast to explore the best that the southern Queensland border region has to offer!
Starting in Goondiwindi, the home of cotton fields and Gundsynd – The Goondiwindi Grey, we’ll wind our way through endless fields, rambling vineyards, primeval rainforests and even conquer a legendary climb or two before finishing in the home of all things sand, surf and sun on the stunning Gold Coast.
WHO WILL BENEFIT: It just makes sense that someone should benefit from our sore saddles!! A not for profit organization close to our hearts, that provides equipment and furnishings to make patients and their families stay in hospital more comfortable is the Goondiwindi Hospital Auxiliary. This organization is made up of volunteers who work tirelessly all year to raise money to buy much needed equipment and furnishings for the local hospital.
Our pain will be someones gain!
