Ryan Runs Iceland - Spartan Ultra

I never thought I would launch this page. When I found out that I had qualified for the Spartan Race Ultra World Championship, a myriad of thoughts ran through my head. I felt proud, I felt accomplished, and I felt absolutely elated. Another thought that kept running through my head was...disappointment. Disappointment, because I knew there was no way I could afford to go and compete. With steep registration fees and added travel, I knew I would never make it to Iceland. Several people began to suggest the idea of "GoFundMe" which I immediately shot down. I told myself if I could not afford to do it on my own, then maybe it just wasn't in the cards for this year. The reason I have changed my mind is because maybe I can produce some "good" out of this fundraising idea. I have a set a goal to raise $2,000 dollars, which would cover the race-registration cost of $800. Any additional money raised, I pledge to donate to the Four Diamonds Fund, a charity supporting families affected by Pediatric Cancer. I plan on documenting my race training in order to inspire others, and I hope my journey helps you set big goals for yourself in the future. All of my life I have supported others in their health and fitness conquest, and for the first time, I am asking for some help with mine. Thank you all.
