Ruth Zimmer needs our help

Ruth needs our help.

Many of you may have met Ruth. She is a vendor at the Newport farmers market, as well as the Yachats market, where she sells her hand knitted and crochet hats and scrubbies. Ruth's health has steadily declined over the years and it has reached a dire stage: she is already battling borderline pneumonia and the winter has not even started yet. In addition, she is barely able to walk due to her back condition.

She lives on her hill, on the outskirts of Toledo. There is no electricity. Only non-functioning solar panels. Because her health has rapidly declined, she was unable to maintain her cabin she lives in, or any other structure on the property.

Her son drove all the way from the East coast to help Ruth - but they need our help! Whether it is in a monetary fashion, or knowledge (repairing the solar panels for example), or lending a helping hand (and hammers) to make her cabin habitable again, so she has a chance to survive this winter.

This effort to help her is arranged by Anja, who you can reach for any assistance, information and possible "lending a hand" arrangements.
