Runners Doing Good is back for another running and fundraising adventure!
This year, we're running to benefit Tony & Jayme Dee and their family's efforts to raise money for an international adoption that they've felt called to, prayed about, and chosen to answer that call.
They are adoption a young teen from Colombia who is aging out of the foster system because she'd be "too old" for some folks to adopt. Many times in situations like this, the child is eventually emancipated and left to their own.
During such an important developmental time of a child's life, to be given a family to call her own who will love her and care for her in ways that no one has till this point, this young lady's life is about to change in such new and positive ways.
This doesn't come with out complexities and struggles to raise such incredible dollars amounts that range between $35,000 and $40,000 to make this a reality for the Dee family and this girl.
They're about halfway through that effort but it's all been very time intensive and their family is doing everything they can from running garage sales, to selling goods at craft bazaars, to selling popcorn, apple dumplings, and plants, to even pouring hot chocolate at a holiday parade.
Our hope is that this fundraiser and our efforts will help speed up that process. We realize we may not be able to get them the whole way but a fundraiser, with the ability to give them a considerable bump in dollars, hopefully provides them some support that's not just financial but takes a bit of the effort off of their shoulder so they don't have to manage one more thing.
So please join us and support this wonderful family
