Run Cancer Into The Ground
Tax deductible
In 2011, my dad came to cheer for me. It was my first half-marathon. In 2015, I trained for another half-marathon. Dad planned to cheer me on again. I looked for him at mile 7 but he wasn’t there. He apologized and told me he didn’t feel well that morning. Later that evening, my dad’s life and our family changed forever. He was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and after a 9 month valiant cancer battle, he passed away on my 31st birthday. For the past two years, I searched for a way to honor my dad-my way. I chose to complete a full marathon, something I never envisioned finding the strength to complete. With a very special angel cheering me on, I am well on my way! November 3rd is right around the corner! To continue his legacy of giving back, I am raising money for the JC Lewis Cancer Pavilion, where the doctors and nurses treat every patient like family. So in honor of my dad and his beautiful legacy, please consider donating to “sponsor a mile” and run cancer into the ground. All donations will be given to the Survivorship fund, a fund that specifically helps cancer patients enduring chemotherapy and radiation. Thank you and God Bless!
