WHO ARE WE?
We are students of the MA in Literature and Publishing in the National University of Ireland, Galway.
There are seventeen of us, and although we are from different backgrounds, different countries and of different ages, we all share a common love for literature and the arts!
WHAT IS ROPES?
ROPES (Review of Postgraduate English Studies) is a literary journal that was first published by the MALP students in 1993.
It showcases poetry, plays, short stories, non-fiction pieces and artwork and is entirely put together by the MALP students every year. ROPES is now in its 28th edition.
WHY ROPES?
ROPES is a great opportunity for us students to learn skills that will not only be invaluable in our future careers, but a chance for both emerging and established writers to see their work published!
WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE?
Every year, the profits made from the sales of ROPES all go towards a charity. This year, we have chosen COPE Galway - COPE Galway’s vision is for an improved quality of life in a home of their own for people affected by homelessness, women and children experiencing domestic abuse, and older people.
The money you donate goes towards the production of ROPES (printing and all the costs involved in publishing) - then, all profit from the sales of the journal will go towards COPE Galway!
