Rocky’s K9 Rescue
is a not-for-profit animal rescue run by Merna Karam, with the assistance of a group of dedicated volunteers. Rocky’s saves loving and deserving dogs in the pounds of Sydney and country NSW from death row. Our rescued pets are placed in foster care or boarding kennels while we search for their forever homes. Rocky’s does not discriminate by age, size or breed. We rescue all kinds of dogs –  the good, the sad and the ugly – and we specialise in large dogs. 

All of our dogs have had the following treatment and/or procedure as standard..Exceptions are made only on medical grounds.
Desexed
Vaccinated
Microchipped
Wormed Intestinally
Heartworm prevention
Flea treated + prevention

We have rescues that we can rehome to suitable adoptive families within a few weeks however many can take several months to rehome which means added costs involved.

In the last six weeks alone Rocky’s has had to pay over $5,000 in vet bills with more to come.

Roxy, two weeks ago had a Tumour removal surgery
Bronx had a blood test, biopsy. surgery and medication required for cancer.
Melody had  Xrays, ultrasound and medication required to treat her leg.
We just saved a dog from a Pound that we will not name but the dog was found to be in bad shape. She was full of fleas and had mattered hair and a huge tumour so no one else would rescue as her but we did and her surgery has now been booked in.

We also just saved a pregnant Great Dane dog off gumtree that is only 10 month old

We also have three seven month Weiminaras pups coming this week and a further 7 more pups being rescued from the country.

We are moving in to the Christmas period which unfortunately means more cats and dogs will be surrendered and/or homeless.

According to the RSPCA on average the ongoing cost in a 12month period for a dog is over $900 and this is not including Vet bills for medical treatment. In the last 12 months Rocky's has rescued over 450 dogs and cats with varying medical conditions and costs associated so we need your help.

We need to fundraise for all the upcoming surgeries, medical treatments and rescues so any help you can give will be appreciated
