Do you want to help youth build a better future? The Wasco County 4-H Robotics and STEM program needs your help.
We seek funds to help cover costs related to equipment and tournament fees so that our students can participate in local, regional, and national competitions.
We have a proven track record of improving students’ skill levels and motivation toward careers that can help shape our planet’s future health.
Program accomplishments include:
· 15 Regional Championship titles in Lego™, VEX, and MATE Robotics
· 4 State Championship titles in both land-based and submersible robotics
· 5 invitations to compete in national level competitions (U.S. Open or World VEX Robotics Competitions)
The program helps youth be their very best. “My experience with 4-H has been great and it’s given me a good idea about what I want to do. There have been job opportunities, field trips to colleges. With robotics I work on Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Career Exploration. I get to help out at summer camps: robotics camps, science camps, coding camps, rocketry, cooking camps. It’s given me an idea about what I want to do and a way to start doing what I want to do,” Jacob F, robotics student.
Additionally, the program helps youth who otherwise may not be successful in school or have difficulties fitting in. “It’s amazing to see students that are not involved in other classes get so excited about robotics,” Tom MS robotics coach.
Parents say: “My son was bullied and ostracized at his last school. He has absolutely LOVED being part of the robotics team and feels like he has real friends. This program has saved his life. It really has.” robotics parent, Kim.
