Robert Keithley Memorial JROTC Fund

Don protégé
The hardest thing of this year, for me.  It was losing the greatest and most important thing that I have ever loved, cared for/about and was the best thing I have ever created.  My 17 year old son Bobby.

Going into the time of giving thanks, I have many reasons this year to be not so thankful.   However, I must count all the blessings that I have, so  many people that love me and care about me.   The support that I have been shown and getting life back on a path. My family support, friends, my job, health insurance, a roof, lights, heat, a car.  I could be in a very dark place but I am not.

Bobby never had much interest in sports or activities.  But he loved the JROTC program.  He marched in parades was on the rifle team and the one thing he enjoyed practicing every week and looked forward to the events.  We had discussed aspirations of the Air Force, Programming, Open Source code, also we the discussed best choices for life, goals and being a responsible human.  Art, Comedy, Acting, nothing was off limits.  These were the things he enjoyed until he passed.

At the funeral I said I would start a GoFundMe for the JROTC program he loved so much.  I’m starting the donation program now, until his Birthday on May 6th.  Once the donations have closed, I will donate all moneys collected to the school and the program.  I have reached out the school administration and have made them aware this is happening.

Like! Share! And Subscribe!  I will be posting updates throughout the year up until his Birthday May 6th   where he would have been 18 years old.  If we get enough, we could provide supplies to the program, Maybe a scholarship.   Who knows???? I’ve never done this before I just want it to go to a good cause for a good reason in honor of what would have been a great MAN!

It’s taken me a very long time with lots of help to get to a healthy place.  Also to even put these words together.    I struggle, but I’m a fighter.  I’ve been knocked down; I’ve been knocked out (high school beatdown) got back up put my feet on the ground and kept moving forward.   That’s all I know how to do.   It would mean the world to me to present the program with something meaningful to celebrate his honor.

I heart felt thank you for taking the time to read this message and hopefully you will donate.  Hit me up on  @chris_keithley on twitter or hit me up on linked in or facebook.   Life isa struggle and we all have to find a way to survive!  I will be making monthly contibutions myself as I can.   Its all for a good cause I'm not out looking to hurt or take advantage of anyone.
