On Friday morning, July 25th, Robbie Clark (AKA Coach Robbie, AKA The Robster, AKA Sanctify Jiu Jitsu Academy’s most dedicated student) had an accident at work in which he sliced the back of his hand/thumb with an angle grinder.
We are thankful that it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. He still has all of his fingers, but the gash that the blade created required 19 stitches and will require surgery soon to repair the tendon which flexes his thumb upward.
I am Robbie’s Jiu Jitsu coach, and I have most likely spent more time with him over the last 9 months than anyone has due to his dedication. He has put in over 200 classes (more than double that of anyone else). He is currently our first and only homegrown 2-stripe white belt. He also assists the kids' classes as “Coach Robbie” multiple days a week and is a beloved coach by our students.
Jiu Jitsu has become part of Robbie’s lifestyle, and now that is being taken away for a time. We’re asking for donations to help cover his medical expenses in order to love and support him as a community at this time.
Sanctify, let’s support Robbie powerfully as a team!
“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”
