Rimsa Family Support Funds

My friend Freddie grew up in the same diverse and culturally rich Chicago neighborhood as I did, and works in retail, like me. He is extremely caring, and has a calm and non-judgmental aura that makes people feel at ease. He is also an incredibly hard worker, and works well with others. His wife Andrea works in healthcare, and is also an incredibly caring and open person. She has recently gone back to work after having given birth to their youngest child. Freddie and Andrea are raising five lively and wonderful children, including a baby and a toddler. The oldest three kids are in school during the day, but the younger two still need to be cared for at home, or at an affordable childcare center.

Recently, Freddie has been struggling with his mental health, and he needs a lot of help. This fundraiser is important to me not only because I care about Freddie and his family, but because I've struggled with mental health, to the point where hospitalization was at one point necessary for me. Without the abundant care and support of others, I would not be alive today. Now Freddie is in the hospital, getting the help that he needs so that he can get back on his feet. I’m beseeching you to pay it forward, and donate whatever amount that you can, even if it’s $1 or $5. Andrea has had to significantly cut her hours at work in order to stay home with the kids, and bills are adding up quickly.
