Rick Olive Funeral and Memorial Fund

Hello,

My name is Frank Olive, Rick's father.

Rick passed away on June 5th, 2022. This fundraiser will help with his funeral expenses.

Rick was born here in the South Carolina Lowcountry and worked for Mercedes Benz Vans on Palmetto Commerce Parkway. He will be missed by many Friends, Family and Co-workers.

Rick had a small life insurance policy to cover burial, but there was not a beneficiary named. That being said, it takes 8 months in  South Carolina to go through probate. Funds then would go to his estate. As part of the estate, the life insurance death benefit is now subject to state and federal taxes and will be used to pay down any debts before it is distributed to the insured’s heirs.

Rick is in the Charleston County morgue until arrangements can be made to pay for his funeral.  This has been so very hard on his mom and three younger sisters.  Closure is needed.

UPDATE 6/11/22: Rick was transferred to a funeral home in Summerville yesterday evening.
