Richard Darrell Herring Memorial Scholarship
Born, raised, and educated in Buffalo, my father has always been a HUGE advocate for education. He knew that education is one of the greatest tools we have to advance our lives further than the generation before us.
His educational journey saw him attend Turner Carrol High School, a private High School that resided in Buffalo, NY. With Turner Carrol no longer open once l was ready to attend high school, i opted to attend another private school in the Buffalo area, Cardinal O'Hara High School.
At Cardinal O' Hara My dad would be in attendance for countless basketball games supporting me from the crowd making my time at COHS even more special. For this reason I have chosen to start a memorial scholarship in his name at this schools.
I believe starting the Richard Darrell Herring Memorial Academic Scholarship will be a meaningful way to continue his legacy of promoting academic excellence along with diversity and inclusion to the next generation of kids from Buffalo, NY. Giving them the opportunities that they may not otherwise have had access to like he and I did.
