About Eric
Runner, traveler, engineer, brother, son, "Briefcase." Eric was dearly loved by friends and family for his adventurous spirit and resilient attitude, among other qualities. He lived passionately and fought cancer bravely.
Eric was born in 1988 in Gaylord, Michigan. He became an accomplished runner in high school, holding a school record in the 3200meter run that still stands today. He later graduated from Lake Superior State University in 2011 and became a robotics engineer for a GM contractor.
He enjoyed traveling, having studied and worked in China and Japan.
He had a determined, jovial attitude that carried him through good times and bad, and made him an inspiration to other cancer patients.
His Fight
Eric endured unspeakable suffering in his two year fight against cancer. Each day presented a new challenge or uncertainty. He approached each test as he lived his life - with bravery, faithfulness, and determination. He gave all his strength to the fight and when he had no strength left, he died with dignity.
Eric was a tough kid. He will be remembered for his endurance. Eric didn’t have an easy life, but life’s challenges made him who he was. It gave him the motivation to endure at all costs. His spirit is alive in the perspective he gave friends and family. He encouraged others in their struggles and inspired people with his enduring spirit. And now, that same spirit will carry us in the difficult days and years ahead.
