Reward Leading to Arrest of My Son’s Assailants

Sunday John and I received the phone call that parents never want to receive.  The hospital called to tell us that our baby boy was in the emergency room and had been assaulted. Treye and a friend being typical teens, went to party hop near San Diego State without permission. When leaving the party they were approached by a group of 20-30 college age guys accusing the two teenage boys of throwing a bottle at them, which they had not. A fight ensued and the group attacked my baby boy. After he was on the ground after being continuously punched and kicked, one of the guys pointed a gun at my son and pulled the trigger with every intent of ending his life over a bottle that was never thrown by this beautiful, kind, imperfect boy. The bullet hit the ground next to his face and instead of loosing his life, my son will loose his left eye caused by shrapnel from the bullet to the eye. God definitely intervened and I will be eternally grateful my baby boy is still with us.
