A Retirement Fund for Father Carl Birarelli
Our beloved Father Carl is a priest who has dedicated much of his life to caring for the spiritual needs of others. He recently celebrated 62 years of priesthood having served in parishes in both Canada and the United States.
A good shepherd to the people
In his amazing 62 years as a priest, Father has deeply cared for his parishioners and their spiritual needs. His work has spanned the spectrum of religious duties. He has performed hundreds of baptisms and First Communions, thousands of Reconciliations, given innumerable riveting homilies, celebrated numerous marriages and given the Last Rites to many more of the faithful. This is a man who has quietly given his life to serving God and his people. He is loved and admired by countless people who over the years have been witness to his profound devotion to the Catholic Church and its teachings.
A good shepherd who is in need of some assistance
Father Carl is 94 years old and while his faith-based journey, devotion to God and caring for the spiritual needs of others will continue, a new chapter in his life must unfold. For health reasons, Father must move into an assisted living home. While this move is necessary, unfortunately, the stipend Father Carl receives each month from Social Security and the Diocese of Cincinnati does not completely cover the cost of living in extended care. This presents a wonderful and blessed opportunity for us to give back to Father as he makes this transition. We need to care for Father Carl as he has lovingly cared for so many of us during his ministry.

This GoFundMe account is set up to allow his many beloved parishioners and the general public to help bridge the gap between Father Carl’s income and his anticipated living expenses. Father’s expenses will only increase as he comes to rely more on the nursing services provided in assisted living.
Father Carl is scheduled to move to his new residence on December 1st and this is a very important time to demonstrate the love we all have for him and make a contribution to support this worthy cause. As this fund will remain open as long as Father Carl needs financial assistance, you are welcome to make either periodic contributions or a one-time contribution. However you choose to give and whatever amount you chose to give will be much appreciated.
All monies donated to this fund for Father Carl will be deposited into a joint account in my name, Peter Lofquist and in the name of Father Carl Birarelli. Father Carl will advise me of his anticipated expenses and funds will be transferred to his personal account as needed.
The goal of this fund is to raise $25,000 to cover all anticipated needs.
