Renovate Childhood home

I've started this Go Fund Me for my bestie/cousin through marriage, Juanita Gibson. She is 26 years old and is trying to make her childhood liveable.

So I guess Ive left alot in this request. This home is on native reserve. We have tried to get a mortgage and loans. But they do not lend because she does not own the land the house sits on.

Yes the roof is being done. She had 3/4 of the money saved. But unexpected issues have came up. The roof was built 40 years ago with very little codes to follow. The current roofers are trying to complete. Rafters need sistering and strapping is rotten and needs replaced.

45 years ago her parent Wayne and Roberta Gibson received the bones of a log cabin home. They poured the foundation and built the roof. The Gibson family than lived and grew.

Tragically Wayne(dad) passed away when Juanita was only 5 years old. Than Roberta (mom)passed away when she was 18. The family tried to live on in there parents spirit. Sadly the family seperated and became victim to drug and alcohol world, to cover their pain of the massive loss of their parents. Juanita opened her eyes one day and knew she needed to quit the drug world. She was able to recover on her own strong will.

The log cabin home was left to Juanita Gibson. The house was unfortunately abandoned for 10 years before Juanita decided to move back and fix her childhood home up.

She move in with no heat, no hydro and no water. We were able to find a family member to help her get the plumbing running again. We even built a make shift counter for the kitchen sink. She than had hydro in to rewire the house which was a $10,000 bill. She has been making the payments on that but still owes money.

Juanita lived with a very rotten leaky roof. She was able to raise almost enough fund to help cover the $30,000 bill. But some unforseen problems arose while they were tearing the roof off, she was told another $610. Were hoping the other side doesn't need to be restrapped. If it does there will be another cost.

Once the roof is done the floors, which are rotten in some spots will need to be done. We were quoted $22,000.

Juanita has been working her butt off to raise as much money as possible on her own. I wanted to help her with a Go Fund Me to help with some of these very large bills.
