Goal $6,000

Renee Sumner passed away at the age of 65 on January 7, 2024 of kidney failure due to diabetes. She had no final arrangements nor any money in her estate.

It’s our hope that Renee’s friends will help give her a proper burial at Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield next to her parents. We need to raise $6,000 to cover the direct cremation, cemetery grave opening, grave engraving, Medfield newspaper charge, and a memorial service and celebration of life at her grave on a date near her birthday in May 2024. I opened a bank account “The Friends of Renee Sumner “to fundraise for Renee’s burial and a grave side celebration of life.

After the vendor’s are paid from “The Friends of Renee Sumner” account any leftover monies will be donated to the MEDFIELD MUSIC ASSOCIATION, in memory of Renee Sumner – the first stage band singer in the history of Medfield High School (1974-76). The MMA is a non-profit organization that has supported the award-winning district –wide Medfield Music Program since 1972.

I met Renee and her brother Dana when they moved next door to me when Renee was 4 years old and we became lifelong friends. I kept in touch with Renee over the years to include 50 years of watching her singing and performing all over Massachusetts in a number of bands including with her former husband while raising their children.

Within the past 15 years Renee performed in her home town many times includuing at the icon Lords Midnight Madness, on stage at Medfield Day, the MEMO (Medfield Employees Merchants Organization) summer concert at the gazebo and at Paul DeLuca’s former Rock n Roll Rib Joint venue.

Thank you very much for your consideration to provide Renee with a proper burial and celebration of life. If you prefer to write a check please make it out to The Friends of Renee Sumner and mail it to my home address. Please private message me if you don’t know my address.
