Remy’s Melanoma Treatment

Hi, my name is Cameron, and first, I'd like to thank you for being here and reading this.

I have a best friend named Remy, and he happens to be 5-year-old sweetheart with four legs and a brindle coat. I rescued him when I was living in Alabama 5 years ago, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Now for the difficult news. I took Remy to the vet in the middle of May to get a growth on the corner of his mouth checked out. He had surgery to get it removed, and the vet sent a sample to the lab to conduct a biopsy just in case it was anything serious. And as it turns out, it was. About a week later, I got the results back that Remy had an amelanotic melanoma. This is a type of skin cancer that can be quite aggressive. These melanotic cells typically attack the lymph nodes and lungs first, and will metastasize eventually. There isn't a definitive time table(typically weeks to months) of when this will happen, but the sooner he receives treatment, the better. The treatment that's been suggested for him is a margin surgery of the lymph nodes, followed by a melanoma vaccine. Unfortunately, this type of treatment is something I cannot afford on my own...
