Remembering Scott Morrison: Husband, Dad & Friend

Donation protected
The luckiest people in the world were the people that got to know Scott William Morrison!

I knew Scott personally. He was one of my best friends. When I went through a tough time in my life he was there every single day. He called, he texted, he harassed (LOL) to make sure I was okay and to see if there was anything he could do to help me. He not only loved his family dearly but also loved all of his friends and their families.

Scott William Morrison was originally from Kelowna, B.C., but had relocated to Calgary, Alberta. He was married to his beautiful wife Dee. They had one son, Peter, that Scott was so proud of. He also frequently liked to mention how Peter was so much smarter than he was. The love he had for his wife and his son was known to all. He had everything he wanted.

Scott worked in the new home industry for 10+ years. In this time, he made friends that would become like family and was well known and respected in the industry. In his job he did everything he could to make people feel at ease and ensured that they always felt supported no matter the situation. His efforts and dedication did not go unnoticed as Scott won a Canada-wide award for Service Manager of the year.

This last year for Scott put everything he stood for to the test. In early 2021 Dee was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. Scott dropped everything, took a leave from his job and supported her through surgery, treatments, and the long journey to recovery. He went to every appointment to make sure she didn’t feel alone. The year, to say the least, was the hardest year of his life. In all this, he stayed strong for Dee even when he felt defeated. Scott and Dee had decided that they would spend the summer in Kelowna, to be closer to their family. Having additional support from the family he loved would help get them through this
tough time.

They had started slowly moving their belongings to Kelowna, to start the transition. Dee went to Kelowna, and Scott was making the trips back and forth so she could rest and be with the family.

On February 5th, Scott left his best friend Mike's house to make his final trip. His brother Collin had come out to help him and keep him company on this journey. Things were looking great. They were going to be close to family and spend their summer in the sunshine. Scott never made it back to Dee in Kelowna. On Saturday February 5th, as he and his brother made their way down Highway 1, just outside of Field, B.C., a cube delivery truck coming from the opposite direction slid out of control, crossed the highway, and struck Scott’s truck head on. Scott was killed instantly. After the accident Collin was airlifted to Foothills Hospital in critical condition. At present the full extent of his injuries have yet to be determined due to the severity of this horrific accident but Collin will likely never be the same.

Dee has been left wondering how this could have happened and how she will carry on without Scott, her rock. They fought the good fight and were starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. They were planning on going on trips and camping this summer. They wanted to spend every moment they could together.

With Dee not being able to work due to her illness she has been left with ever-growing costs. We are hoping that we can help her through this difficult time as Scott would have done for any of us.

Any contribution, big or small, would go to a family that is more than deserving. Please consider helping the Morrisons.

Scott made this world a little better and brighter place to live. His sense of humor, his laugh, his smile and his willingness to help will never be forgotten.
