Remembering Indy: Support for Susan
Donativo protegido
The bond between pet and owner is a sacred one. So it's heartbreaking when someone has to say goodbye to a pet.
My friend Susan loved her beloved cat Indy (aka: Indiana Jones and The Buddha Cat) for over 10 years, and he comforted her throughout the toughest times of her life.
When she built a teardrop trailer and traveled around the country for four months during the COVID pandemic, Indy became beloved by all who met him. He was a very special cat, especially for his human, Susan.
Sadly, Indy took a bad turn very quickly, and Susan had to make the decision to say goodbye without even having time to process it, something many of us have had to deal with.
And while dealing with the loss of her Buddha Cat, she had to deal with the financial issue that this brings. Unfortunately, vet bills and cremation add up, even with the most compassionate pets. The total of vet bills and cremation come to over $800. While Susan had the funds to pay for this upfront, it means putting off her rent and delaying other bills to handle this.
Susan is an artist and art educator in New Orleans. She sells her artwork at the Frenchmen Art Bazaar and has her own art studio, where she teaches classes. However, it's been a terrible year for sales, and she only recently opened the studio, so she's still struggling to fill classes there.
If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Anything raised over the vet and cremation costs would go to Zeus' Rescue, one of the best pet rescues in New Orleans.
