Remember In Tomah Scanner & SSD HD
Donation protected
Since March of 2017, I have been scanning my collection of Tomah photo's and memorabilia. I have now taken on the task of scanning in multiple shelves of negatives from the Tomah Museum. My best guess, is there are 250,000 negatives. I brought home 3 shoe box's full of small envelopes chucked full of yet, smaller envelopes, with each containing two to 28 negatives. In the last month I have scanned in just over 2,000 negatives (individually), which comes out to just over 2 gigs of space. This is going to be around a 3 - 4 year endeavor. I have been using my own equipment for the last 13 months, but my scanner is not only running out of time, but I can only scan 1 negative at a time. I need a scanner which is not only fast, but does multiple negatives in one swipe. I also have been using my own external hard drive back-up. But I need something that has mass storage and can be taken back & forth to the Museum, where ultimately all of these photos will reside. I also believe "we" need yet another external back-up SSD Hard-Drive. I hope I have your support in this journey, which will leave generaltions to follow, a better understandig of the history of our great City. Any money raised above what I need will be donated to the Museum. Once the scanner has done it's job, it too will be given to the Museum. -Mike
