Help Rescue the Animals Left Behind After a Sudden Family Tragedy

On Thursday, June 12th, Virginia and Mary Kathryn’s world changed forever. Their beloved mother passed away unexpectedly, leaving them, their father, and a house full of memories—and heartbreak—they never could have prepared for.

But in the wake of this tragedy, what remains isn’t just grief—it’s an urgent crisis.

Their mother was a kind and deeply compassionate woman who opened her heart and home to animals in need. Over time, her house became a safe haven for strays and forgotten pets. Although the home was filled with love, they ended up with more animals than they could care for. Today, Virginia and Mary Kathryn are suddenly responsible for 11 dogs and an unknown number of cats, all living in conditions no living being should endure.

Many of the animals have never seen a vet. Some are sick, some elderly, some terrified. One has already been confirmed heartworm positive. All of them deserve better—but right now, there are no resources, no safety net, and no time to waste.
