Refugee Family Loses Everything in Lowell Fire

The Habimimana Family's apartment in Lowell, MA was lost today (7/27/19) in a terrible fire. The family of nine all escaped unharmed and is currently staying with relatives in Lowell until they find temporary shelter. They were able to retrieve important family documents, but everything else they had is gone.
The Habimimanas arrived in Lowell from Uganda in 2016. They had been living in a refugee camp there having fled their home in the Democratic Republic of the Congo due to violence. Both parents have found work in Massachusetts and six of their seven kids are in Lowell Public Schools; the youngest, Godfrey, will start preschool in the fall. This beautiful family was just starting to feel settled after the upheaval of moving and resettling in Lowell.
They now need to secure a new living space, furnishings and clothing.
The sooner we can help them get resettled again the better--school and work are priorities for this family-- and they have already endured so much.
