Hello, my name is Rachel McCray.

In June of 2024 I had a brain MRI that would change my life. I was told that i had a Meningioma on the left side of my brain. At that time the tumor was rather small and was stable, so my neurosurgeon and I decided the best course of action was observation. A year later in September 2025 I again had another MRI done, only this time the tumor has grown and become urgent. I was then told by my neurosurgeon that it needed to be removed ASAP. Surgery date has been set for October 20th.

A little bit of background. I had a widow maker heart attack September 2020, where I went into cardiac arrest and had to be shocked twice in the ambulance and rushed into emergency surgery for my heart.

I am a single mother of two daughters aged 12 and 20 and I also have custody of my niece who is 16.

After the surgery to remove the brain tumor i will be in recovery for several months. I am asking for assistance while I am in recovery, i will need help paying my monthly bills ( Rent, electricity, water, car insurance, food and more ) until I am able to make a full recovery.

I will keep this page updated as we go along with pictures and progress notes.
