8 years ago, my dad and brother left California to go to live on the land they inherited in Puerto Rico, "to start a farm". I never thought it was possible, and assumed they would be going to Puerto Rico to surf and drink rum instead. But sure enough, my brother built a farm. He planted every tree, he dug every hole, he cut every blade of grass. He turned an uninhabitable jungle into a farm that fed people. He sold to the local farmers markets and the local restaurants. His food provided sustenance for the community. And now, it's gone. I would like to raise some money to help my brother buy seeds and farming supplies so that he can start his farm up again.
