Hurricane Lowell devastated my hometown of Kekaha and turned our family’s life upside down. The storm demolished everything surrounding our home. My dad’s shed, where he spends most of his time, was destroyed. Our storage place with important supplies was ripped apart, our home doors flew away, and the hurricane destroyed my mom and dad’s car. Everything is a mess all around, and the damage has affected so much of daily life for my family.
Even getting back home was difficult. The main highway was covered with rocks from the ocean, and we were only able to return to Kekaha by using the backroad. Seeing the destruction firsthand has been heartbreaking for us.
I’m raising funds for my family to help repair our home in Kekaha and replace what was destroyed in the storm, including important supplies and other essentials we lost. Part of the support will also go toward helping our family on Niihau, and we would love to extend help there as well.
Right now, the most urgent need is help for our home in Kekaha, and we would also love to extend help to our family on Niihau. Any donation or share would mean so much to us as we try to recover from Hurricane Lowell and help our family get through this together.
