Rebuilding Ian's Studio After LA Fires

On January 7th our home in the Pacific Palisades burned down in the Los Angeles Fires. We lost everything in the house including my film & music studio where I worked every day and housed all of the equipment I have been collecting for over 25 years — monitors, samplers, computers, keyboards, hard drives, turntables, amplifiers, cameras, and so much more.

Since the fire I have been working with my renters insurance company, applying for arts grants, and asking for donations directly from brands. Luckily I have received some support, but the fact is — I was very under-insured for the extensive collection of equipment I owned and the support I have received from grants and brands have only covered a fraction of what was lost.

Because of this, I am humbly launching this GoFundMe campaign to ask my friends, family and broader community for support in rebuilding my studio.

Any financial support donated here will go directly to purchasing all of the equipment, studio furniture and anything else needed to get my studio back up and running again.

After the chaos of January, I am happy to report that Flora and I have found a new home we are renting in Los Angeles. We are slowly settling in and adjusting to this new chapter of our lives.

I am so grateful to all of you who have showed up for us the past two months — with your calls, your messages, your generosity, love and support. Ultimately this is what has given us the strength to navigate this wild and unexpected ride.
