Rebuild Hope for the Hartnett-Werner Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Breanna Hartnett. I'm one of five people who lost everything in a devastating house fire shortly after the recent tornadoes hit our area. We are incredibly grateful to be alive, but we are starting over from nothing, without our home, our belongings, or to fall back on.
After initial talks with the fire department, we believe the fire may have been caused by damage related to the local severe storm/tornado that swept through Westmoreland recently, possibly involving our water heater. This hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we want to raise awareness: if you've been through the recent storms, please check your systems and appliances, there have already been other fires reported since.
Our escape was made possible by our dog, Freya, who alerted us to something being wrong downstairs. Thanks to her, we were able to get out safely. Tragically, Freya didn’t survive the fire due to smoke inhalation, but her bravery saved our lives. She will always be our hero.
We’re reaching out to ask for help, anything you can give will go toward replacing the most basic necessities: clothes, food, medications, and temporary housing while we figure out what comes next. We'd accept donations as well, but with no where to put them, we wouldn't want to make an issue of having too-much when we are moving around between places.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this with others. Every bit of support makes a difference.
Thank you for your kindness,
Breanna Hartnett & the other fire victims
