Raven Bookseller Recovering from a Flood
Donativo protegido
Jack, a veteran bookseller at The Raven Book Store, recently lost their car in a Kansas flood. We're raising money to help Jack replace it. Here's Jack's summary of the situation:
"Hey folks, my car was rendered a non operational hunk of junk by the flood that occurred on the morning of August first while I was housesitting out in Southwest Lawrence. I can only afford liability insurance and therefore I now have no car and no way of replacing the vehicle that was lost without a lot of help from my community. Without reliable transportation I have no way of consistently getting to any of the jobs I work, especially my main source of income, which is a 25 minute drive from my apartment. I am also experiencing some neurological issues that I am currently trying to get to the bottom of and am unable to walk to The Raven from my home (or anywhere else really) as it causes me immense physical pain. I would greatly appreciate anything you can contribute. Thank you!"
The Book Industry Charitable Foundation is matching the first $2,000 we raise. The resulting $4,000 would be enough to get Jack into a reliable car so they can get to work and begin getting back to normal.
