Help Raven & Louie Escape Systemic Abuse and Secure Justice
“We refuse to perish in silence. We refuse to be collateral damage. We rise.”
— Raven & Louis Maldonado
Two Lives in Crisis — One Last Chance to Survive
I am Louis “Louie” Maldonado, writing for myself and my wife, Raven.
We have been married for twenty years, bound by love, mutual care, and resilience. We are both permanently disabled, chronically ill, and survivors of repeated trauma. The very systems designed to protect us have become the instruments of our harm.
Our home—marketed as accessible—has become dangerous. Our care networks have been dismantled without explanation. Services we once depended on have been stripped away by individuals and agencies holding unchecked authority over our lives.
This campaign is not only about relocation. It is about survival, accountability, and the right to live with dignity.
What We’ve Endured
Loss of all essential support
Without notice, every form of in-home assistance, transportation help, and coordinated medical care was withdrawn.
Forced removal from our home
Raven was taken by police and EMS under false pretenses, in coordination with publicly funded agencies. No medical evaluation or emergency justification was provided.
Targeted retaliation
We have been labeled “liabilities” and punished for advocating for trauma-informed care, disability rights, and medical accountability.
Medical neglect
Life-threatening diagnoses—including Lupus, AFIB, and Gastroparesis—have been ignored for years. Despite mounting evidence in medical records, critical treatment has been delayed or denied.
Unsafe housing
Our current unit is not ADA compliant. Narrow doorways, broken thresholds, and the absence of essential safety modifications have caused repeated falls and injuries.
Why We Need Help Now
We must leave Connecticut before further harm occurs. Our goal is to raise $15,000–$20,000 to:
Secure safe housing — First and last month’s rent, plus deposit, for a fully ADA-compliant home in Salem, MA.
Obtain reliable transportation — A used vehicle for medical appointments and daily needs.
Replace essential equipment — Mobility devices, medical supports, and safety modifications.
Retain legal counsel — To pursue claims for civil-rights, disability, and housing violations.
Support recovery — Including an emotional-support animal for Raven’s ongoing trauma care.
How You Can Help
Donate — Every contribution directly advances our safety and legal fight.
Share — Spread our story through your networks to amplify awareness.
Connect — Link us to attorneys, journalists, and advocates who can strengthen our case.
Our Commitment
We are not liabilities.
We are not passive victims.
We are survivors committed to truth, accountability, and change.
We will keep donors updated as we take each step toward safety, justice, and the life we are fighting to reclaim.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and standing with us.
