Praying the donations safely lands into the hands of those who really need it. I’m looking forward to giving everyone an update; how much the taka from gbp conversion is and how many families will receive it. We calculated out the complete poorest will receive 2000 taka each which will give them basics (rice,oil,lentils,salt) for a month. Therefore, anyone who donated £5, can proudly say they have fed a family for a week. May Allah reward everyone’s generosity. Jazakallah Khair. In this blessed month of Ramadan, the poor are suffering even more than usual because of Covid restrictions. Families are facing such hardship and many are eating nothing.
For the past few years, I have donated to the less fortunate in Gopaya, Hobiganj however the situation is even more heartbreaking due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. This month I’ve donated 50,000 taka of my own money (that’s around £500) and I think it would be amazing if we could all contribute whatever we can to match that with further donations if possible. Every single penny counts and every single penny will be distributed directly into the hands of the poor. I managed to give 30 families enough to buy some rice, chana and oil. It’s not huge, but enough sustenance.
Please think of how lucky we all are, and that any amount will be much more to families in Bangladesh right now. Any amount, no matter how small or big will help families over there. Pennies and pounds all taken!
