Hi im Sabrina, Dukes mom.

A little back story on me and Duke, I got Duke in 2023 at the age of 2, when he came to me he didnt know any basic commands and wasnt house trained. He has since come a long way from there over the 2.5 years of being with me and has gotten his novice Caro title and novice trick dog as well.

As only a few people know last October I started training Duke to be a service dog as my health was starting to decline. He has helped me so much over that time and I really want to be able to give him the love and care that he has been able to give me.

At the beginning of 2026 Duke fell ill with pneumonia, gastroenteritis and pancreatitis, we were able to treat that and he seemed to be doing better although, sadly that didnt last long before we were back at the vet. Only 1.5 weeks later we were back at the vet trying to figure out why my sweet boy was sick again.

After 3 days of diarrhea and trouble urinating we went back to the vet and after multiple blood tests, urine tests and stool samples as well as a lot of poking and proding we found out that he had no platelets.

So we started him on some medication in hopes that that would help, and the next round of bloodwork showed it was helping although he still wanst back to himself. Fast forward to today hes still not feeling well and quite uncomfortable with a rigid abdomen and still not overly enthusiastic or much energy at all. We still dont know why hes still not feeling well. We dont know how many more tests he will need or what medications and further treatments either, we are hoping to be able to raise some money to help cover some of the costs. Duke is my best friend and I want to do everything possible to help him in anyway that I can but sadly I can only do so much as one person. So if you have the means to help we would appreciate any help in trying to figure out what's wrong with my sweet boy.
