Hiya, for those that don’t know me or my story, my name is Ashleigh I’m 27 and I had a spinal stroke on Boxing Day 2019 when I was 25 and 9 weeks pregnant with my son. My little miracle who’s now 1. Along side my son I have my daughter who is 8 and my stepson who is 3. Out of this year and a half, I have spent a year in and out of hospital for medical reasons and rehabilitation. Unfortunately I have been left paralysed waist down and in a wheelchair. Before this happened me and the kids would never be in the house, we love the outdoors! However due to nerve damage, muscle weakness and not having any grip in my hands I struggle to push my chair outside/on uneven surfaces. We always have to have an extra pair of hands with us anywhere we go or leave the kids with our parents and it takes away that family time we need and want to enjoy again. So, to help there’s such thing as E-motion powered wheels which are £5000. With the help of a peer support worker he is in the process of trying to get at least half of the funding, but I would need to raise at least £2500 myself to put towards. My uncle Jason Gates is willing to do bike rides, runs, walks, swims, pretty much anything and is fighting the govner in August if anyone would like to sponsor him to help raise the funds. Friends and other family are also willing to do things to help raise the funds needed. There will be photos etc added to the page for proof also. The last thing I/we wanted to do was ask the public to help, but unfortunately it is my/our last resort. Anything raised will be greatly appreciated more than anyone will know and if/when we have the full amount to purchase the wheels I will also put a photo on as proof. I have also added a picture of the wheels that the funds are for. (may not be this brand, but will be something like this)
