Hey everyone,

So I didn’t really know Sebastian that well and I never had the pleasure of meeting Brett but recent tragic events really hit home for me as I’m sure it did for many. The industry we work in it has so many highs and great points about it but at the same time its tough, it’s not easy work, it’s demanding, it’s 24/7 and its mentally draining at times and with the recent pandemic if anything it’s been even tougher for everyone and as big as the industry is it’s very easy to feel extremely lonely in it, we all have our demons and mental battles so I want to organise something positive to remember those gone but to raise money to help others who may have similar feelings and to more importantly raise awareness that no matter how dark things may seem there is always someone to talk to no one out there is alone just reach out to a mate, a family member, a colleague or any of the fantastic organisations out there that offer help and support! Instead of just having another busy day parading at the sales followed by too many beers I’m organising a 5 a side soccer tournament on February 2nd 5-7pm between stud farms, bloodstock agents, sales companies basically whoever will be in attendance at the 2022 Inglis Classic sale and wants to participate.

The venue is 15 mins from Warwick Farm and I’m aiming to have a maximum of 12 teams, otherwise it just gets too hard to organise in the timeframe we can hire the venue so get in early if your keen as it’ll be first come first served policy! Teams can have up to 6 players you can use multiple substitutes throughout games but you must have at least 1 female on the pitch at all times. After the group stage there will be a Winners section and Losers section so you’ll get plenty of game time. Obviously the format is depending on the amount of teams but this will be the gist of it. Entry fee will be $20 per person and once the costs are covered for hiring of the venue all money will go to Beyond Blue a charity that provides support and help to people of all ages, all genders, all around Australia dealing with mental health issues! I’m hoping to have sponsored awards for the winning teams of the winners/loser sections, runners up, best female player, male player, etc. so if you or if you know of any organisation/farm that would be keen to sponsor any of these awards please get in touch with me again all money will go to charity. I’m hoping to also have a r affle with donated prizes from businesses, restaurants, whatever we can think of. If you wish to put up a prize or have an idea please get in touch with me!
