I, Rachel Strieber, have been accepted to the NCLS Law & Advocacy program at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, this summer. My tuition goal for this program is $3,000. I am currently a sophomore at Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi, New Jersey. I am very interested in the subject of law, and I hope to become a lawyer as my career. This 10-day program would allow me to complete a criminal trial similation, make a law school visit, participate in leadership workshops, and meet with leading trial, jury, forensic and legal experts from the top law firms, the Department of Justice and the court system. I would also be able to study college level curriculum regarding homicide laws, witness preparation, opening statements, direct examination, evidentiary procedure, and cross-examination. In addition to this, I would have the opportunity to visit Yale Law School, the Connecticut Supreme Court, the US Attorney’s Office, Mystic Seaport, Times Square, and Rockefeller Center.
