Rachel Wahl Stroke Recovery Fund

On May 15th, 2021, my sister, Rachel Wahl, was going about her everyday routine. She was at the gym working out when suddenly she had massive stroke and collapsed. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where she received surgery to remove the blood clot in her brain. Miraculously, she survived. However, because of the severity of the stroke, it left a large portion of her brain heavily damaged, resulting in limited to no use of the entire right side of her body. At this moment, Rachel is completely immobile (pending rehabilitation). To make matters worse, the part of her brain that regulates her emotions was also affected significantly enough to where she has little to no control over them. In addition, Rachel is having to relearn how to communicate either through speaking or writing. She is currently limited to only a few words.

Rachel is a one-of-a-kind woman. She has a kind spirit and would do anything to help those around her. Everything that she does in life she gives 110%. Her determination to be successful and become a better person is contagious to all those around her. Not only is she one of the first in our family to graduate college, but she did so with highest honors. Throughout her college she worked two jobs to pay off tuition and living expenses. She recently turned 24 in April and has worked very hard to get to where she is now. Rachel continues to work two jobs; one of which is an entry position into the field her degree is focused on. When Rachel is not working, she loves spending time with her boyfriend. She also loves working out with her gym family and going on hikes.

Rachel has a long road of recovery and a lot of it is either dependent on time, effort, or both. We are hoping to raise money for her in order to cover any and all expenses so that Rachel will be able to continue where she left off if she fully recovers. Covering these expenses will help allow Rachel more focus on rehabilitation and less on expenses which, hopefully, will result in higher quality rehab with faster results. We are asking for 10k to pay for her out-of-pocket medical expenses as well as her living expenses and car payment.
