A Friend in Need

Nancy and Brent have been friends of mine for a few years now. They are both very kind, caring people who have found themselves in a less than ideal situation. Their story isn't that much different from so many couples these days. It starts with one challenge, then another, and before you know it the meaning of when it rains it pours becomes a joke. Life becomes just too much too handle, obstacles become too hard to navigate alone and so asking for help seems the only way to survive. Nancy and Brent have had a hard year - struggling with serious health issues left them both depleted and depressed. Nancy lost her job, they struggled to keep up, bills kept piling up with not enough coming in to break even. Falling behind became overwhelming, and so did the depression. And then they lost their beloved cat Tigger, adding heartbreak to it all. By today the water and electric have both been shut off and they have been threatened with eviction.
