Rachel’s Mitzvah Project
For my Mitzvah Project I wanted to make sure that everyone that loves dance as much as I do has the opportunity to dance. My idea is to create a scholarship to make dance more accessible to children who can’t afford it. Therefore I am creating “The Berest Dance Center Scholarship Fund.” Berest is the dance school in Port Washington that I have been fortunate to attend since I was six years old. It has always been a very special place to me. The idea of creating this scholarship came to me while I was volunteering for the past few months at Berest. I helped teach three year-olds to dance on Saturday mornings and loved that experience. With this financial help, the Berest Dance Center can provide classes to under-served families who could not otherwise experience dance.
